Summer 2012 HeadStarts: Just a reminder that August 1st is the deadline to convert your SUMMER 2012 HEADSTART to your order! If you haven't converted by then, we will place an order on your behalf (similiar to what you had for 2011).
Christmas 2011 Orders: NEW PROCESS - Everyone **MUST** confirm their delivery address for their Winter order PRIOR TO OCTOBER 1ST. We emailed everyone two weeks ago, and the confirmations are coming in.(Another good reason to give us your current email address and check it often!) You MUST CONTACT US DIRECTLY by phone or email with your customer number to confirm your delivery Address. We will not be responsible for address changes made after November 1st.

Hi All!
We have all heard in the news about the possibility of a strike at Canada Post. We received this update from Canada Post this morning:
Negotiations between Canada Post and the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) continue in Ottawa.
However, we remain optimistic that a negotiated settlement can be reached just as we have done in each round of collective bargaining with CUPW since 1997.
The earliest date that CUPW could go on strike is May 25.
The current collective agreement is still in force and it is business as usual across our network.
In the event that a work disruption does occur, Canada Post will not operate. Mail and parcels will not be delivered.
What does this mean to you?
With the potential of a Canada post strike, some customers will be delayed in receiving their Summer 2012 catalogues. The full catalogue is available on our website, so don’t wait for the catalogue to arrive – shop today!
If you aren’t signed up for email notification for your account, sign up today! While Canada Post is on strike, we will be unable to mail out statements and account updates. Email will be the only way to receive your order information.
If you currently mail in your payments (cheques or money orders) call us today to make new arrangements for your payments via bill payments directly at your bank or changing to Pre-Authorized payments.

Hi all!
Delivery Dates for Summer 2011 Hampers are being mailed out this week, and we have emailed your date if we have your email address!
Final Payment date is May 6, 2011 - so only 9 days left - make sure we have your final payment by FRIDAY so you receive your full order.
Deliveries are between June 1st and June 15th, and you must be home to accept delivery. If you have order some electronics (camera, camcorder, etc) these will arrive separate from your hamper order as signature is required.
Any questions? Call us at 1-800-847-0236 and be sure we have your UP TO DATE DELIVERY ADDRESS and phone numbers. We will not be able to make changes to your delivery address after May 2nd, 2011.

Today we are in Newfoundland, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Saskatchewan. This week we are in almost every province (in various cities) as the deliveries are starting to wind down!

I have to admit the delivery (service) individual was very professional, polite and efficient. He gave me a quick reminder that the red box was the frozen items. It was a pleasure receiving his service.

It's delivery time.. and that means Winter Road conditions! We work very hard with our courier partners at planning your hamper delivery. When deliveries are delayed due to weather and road conditions, we hope you understand! While we do everything possible to deliver your hamper on the date arranged, we have to also consider the safety of the drivers. If weather causes delays, your frozen hampers are ALWAYS kept in frozen storage and will be delivered the following day.
As soon as we receive udpates from our courier partner, we pass them along via Twitter/FB or our blog. Our office is open 7 days a week during deliveries, usually until at least 8pm EST.
We know you understand that we can't control the weather, but do everything in our power to deliver!

Delivery season has officially opened! Today marks our first day of home delivery of Christmas Hampers, toys and gifts! We are starting with selected cities in Manitoba and Ontario, and spreading across Canada from there! It's an exciting time, and we hope you made room in your cupboards!
Don't forget - you must be home to accept your delivery, and it can be from 7am to 7pm (as we don't have the routes of each courier driver!)

Looking for things to do on New Year’s Day? We often spend all of our time planning for New Year’s Eve, but the first day of the new year is just as important. Here are 10 fun and practical New Year’s Day 2010 activities.
1) Watch Football
New Year’s Day is a big day for College Football! Here's the Jan 1, 2010 schedule:

2) Take a Hot Yoga Class
Yoga is well known for it’s healing, cleansing and renewal effects. What better day for cleansing and renewal than on New Year’s Day! Hot Yoga classes are taught in a heated room, with temperatures ranging from 90 degrees to 104 degrees. The heat promotes muscle flexibility and sweating, which helps get the toxins (ex. bottle of champagne on New Year’s Eve) out of your body. If you are new to yoga, almost any class can be adjusted for students at all levels, from beginner to expert
3) Set Personal Goals and New Year’s Resolutions
The beginning of a new year is a fresh start and a great time to think about what you want to accomplish in your personal and professional life in 2010. The most common New Year’s resolutions include to: lose weight, exercise more, eat better, stop smoking, spend more time with family and friends, volunteer and save money and/or get out of debt.
Here are some tips to writing meaningful personal goals and New Year’s resolutions. Move to quiet area away from family and friends. Bring your laptop or a pad of paper and a writing implement. Think about what’s working in your life and what changes you would like to see and start jotting down ideas for 2010 goals. When you’ve exhausted all the ideas, look at the list and prioritize what’s most important, ranking your ideas from high to low.Take the top five ideas and expand on them.
For example, you may have written down “lose weight”. How much weight? How quickly do you want to lose the weight? How will you lose the weight? The more specific you are and the more planful you are, the more likely you will achieve your goals. The end result may be: Lose 25 pounds by June 30, 2010 by joining Gold’s Gym, purchasing sessions with a personal trainer and bringing my lunch to work at least twice per week. The re-written goal is very specific and measurable.
There area a variety of published statistics on the percentage of the population who takes the time to set and achieve goals. Although the stats vary, it’s estimated that less than 10% of the population takes the time to formally define their goals. When you compare people who set goals versus those who did not, no surprise, the individuals who defined their goals were much more likely to achieve their goals. For 2010, you can be part of the 10% of achievers!!
4) Host a New Year’s Day Brunch or Open House
Invite your friends and family over for a New Year’s Day brunch. Keep it relaxed by using an “open house” format where attendees can come and go as they please. More and more people are staying at home on New Year’s Eve, and would look forward to an event the next day.
5) Re-connect with Friends, Extended Family and Colleagues
You can never have too many friends and New Year’s Day is the perfect day of the year to reach out to those who you haven’t spoken to in awhile. We all get so busy, especially around the holidays.
Also, in this economy with more layoffs announced daily, keeping in touch with friends, extended family and colleagues is very important. When it’s time to change employers, having an inside contact can make a significant difference, considering all the competition. They can help get your resume directly to the hiring manager.So, grab the telephone and make some quick New Year’s Day greeting phone calls. Perhaps, send a brief email, sharing some personal, professional or family updates, wishing recipients a Happy New Year and inviting responses.Creating or updating your Face Book, Linked In or other social networking site profile is a great idea on New Years. Find friends, family members or key contacts on the site and send them invitations to connect.
6) Do Some Expiration Date Cleaning
Have you ever prepared a salad, added the dressing, taken a bite and then stopped chewing because you could taste that something was wrong? Then, when you looked at the salad dressing bottle your read that the “best used by” date was from the prior year? We tend to be so busy in our day to day lives, we don't take the time to remove the outdated items.
On New Year’s Day, set aside an hour and do some expiration date cleaning. Take a look in your refrigerator door and toss everything with expired dates. Look in your freezer and toss the items that are no longer recognizable and are likely infused with freezer burn. Also, look inside your medicine cabinet and toss the old medications and ointments as well as older make-up items, like mascara, that should be replaced on a regular basis.
7) Go See A New Year's Matinee Movie
Seeing a newly released movie with family and friends is a New Year’s Day tradition for many. This New Year’s Day you have a choice of many, highly anticipated new releases. These movies include:
"It's Complicated", a romantic comedy starring Meryl Streep, Alec Baldwin and Steve Martin
'Sherlock Homes", Super-sleuth, Sherlock Holmes, gets an update with this adaptation of Lionel Wigram's comic book series by writer/director Guy Ritchie (RocknRolla) starring Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law
"Did You Hear About The Morgans?", a romantic comedy starring Hugh Grant and Sarah Jessica Parker
8) Put Holiday Decorations Back In Storage
There are some home owners who keep their Christmas lights and holiday decorations out for all to see far past New Year’s Day. Most don’t, so what better day for de-holidaydizing (yes, it’s a word) than January 1, 2010? Gather up the red & green, pack up the blue and white, take down the Christmas tree and roll-up the holiday lights.
9) Shop After Christmas - New Year’s Day Sales
Many retailers need to move excess holiday inventory and hold fantastic “After Christmas” sales.
If you prefer to shop online, use Google or Yahoo to search for specific products or head directly to the website for the retailer of your choice. Visit my sister Hub on “Never Pay Full Price Online” for additional online shopping tips.If you don’t mind the challenge of finding a parking space in a mall and prefer shopping at the “brick and mortar” stores, FIRST search Google or Yahoo for “printable coupons for “insert retail store name”. Many offer additional discounts with coupons and the extra five minutes of preparation could save you hundreds of dollars at the cash register.
10) Do A Whole Lotta Nothing
Get up as late as possible, lounge around in comfy sweatpants and your favorite tee shirt, drink mimosas, down an entire bag of potato chips or plate of home made cookies, order in Chinese Food or Pizza, watch a Law and Order marathon, cuddle etc. etc. etc.

Weather warning in Southern Ontario for snow heavy at time accompanied by strong winds today. Winter storm warning 25cm expected in Ottawa Valley and south towards Eastern Lake Ontario!

Gift cards are arriving, and most of you have them already! The final batch was mailed out on Dec 1st, and according to Canada Post, take between 3-8 days to arrive. If you havent received yours yet, be patient!

Due to trucking issues, the deliveries that were scheduled for SATURDAY Dec 5 will be made NEXT SATURDAY, Dec 12th. Deliveries for SUNDAY Dec 6th will be made NEXT SUNDAY, Dec 13th. The linehaul shipments did not make it to the Ferry on time.
Using our voice broadcast system we have left messages for all of you and are sending a second message out this morning for those people not available last night.
We apologize, and all deliveries will be completed next weekend. The reason we scheduled it to arrive a full week later was to keep the weekend delivery window instead of a week day.

EDMONTON: The drivers are out enroute completing the deliveries that were not delivered yesterday as scheduled. We sincerely aplogize for the delay, and the courier is working hard to finish as soon as they can, and we have been assured that the deliveries will be completed today. The frozen hampers were all stored in frozen storage for delivery today.

CALGARY: Due to the storm that hit yesterday, some deliveries were delayed from yesterday, and we are receiving updates from the drivers for re-deliveries for today and tomorrow! All frozen boxes are being held in frozen storage, and the drivers are working hard to get to your houses!
EDMONTON: 7:02pm EST - We just received word from the courier that due to driver issues, not all of the deliveries will be completed tonight. We apologize for the issue, and the deliveries will be completed tomorrow. We let you know as soon as we were told!
SASKATOON Due to weather conditions, one of the frozen trucks was late arriving at the courier depot. Some customers will receive their DRY hampers today, and frozen tomorrow.
NOTRE-DAME-DU-NORD, NEW LISKEARD, KIRLAND LAKE, ENGLEHART, LARDER LAKE: Some deliveries were misdirected by the courier to another depot and will be delivered tomorrow.
We do apologize for the disruption and hope YOU aren't stranded by the weather!

The weather across the country along the major highways has caused a delivery day for VANCOUVER ISLAND for November 24th. The truck will be delayed arriving to the Island, and therefore your deliveries will be WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 25TH.

About the Montreal and area Deliveries:
The truck was delayed, which caused a delay for the courier to sort and deliver all the hampers on Saturday. Over 75% of the hampers were delivered, and the remaining will be delivered by 5pm today. The courier was making his best efforts to get them all out yesterday, and was unable to complete them all
PLEASE BE ASSURED that we have frozen storage facilities at the depot, and the hampers were in frozen storage awaiting delivery.
Once again, our apologies that we didn't post this sooner on our Facebook page and our blog, but we were working hard with the courier to try to deliver them ALL yesterday. We have contacted many of you already, and our apologies to those we were unable to call.
During Delivery Season, our office is open at least from 9am to 530pm EST - and even later when we are delivering to the West Coast.

We thought you might like to know how many cities we deliver Christmas Hampers to across Canada. Keep in mind that we are in most cities on several days duriing delivery time.! In general smaller areas, we finishede in one day.

Welcome to the big launch of our new website! We wanted to make it clear, simple & easy to read - yet filled with everything you need to know about Santas Choice!
Check out our NEW CHRISTMAS 2010 hampers, toys, electronic and gift items! Catalogues started arriving this week, and based on the comments, the new look is a hit!
We will be adding more content over the next few days, so check back often!
